3 Tips on Proper Computer Care
by Suzie Sanchez
In the wee hours of the morning, you can be seen furiously typing at the keyboard on your computer, trying to beat the morning deadline. Then, all of a sudden your computer shuts down on its own accord. You desperately tried to power it back on but it just sat there, doing nothing. So you tried to check the power cables then tried to do it one more time. Nothing happened. This is one of the instances that most people do not want to happen. This unfortunate circumstance may have been avoided if proper computer care was done.
Just like any electronic gadget, you need to have a proper computer care in order for your desktop PC to continue running in top form. One of the simplest ways in proper computer care is cleaning your desktop PC. Just because you always clean your house and wipe clean every niche does not automatically mean that the computer is also clean.
Tiny dust particles have a way of settling in your computer, particularly in the interior of its power supply and the cooling fan of your CPU. Once the dust thickens, it will be very difficult for the cooling fans to operate and turn. These dust particles may accumulate to a certain degree, rendering the cooling fans useless and ultimately causing the fans to stop turning. Once this happens, there can be a heat build-up on your computer's interior, causing chips to improperly work or worse, fail to function.
If one of the chips on your computer cracks because of extreme heat, then you can expect the computer to fail altogether. This is because even the tiniest electronic component on your computer has a certain function that is related to another. Before this happens, try to take the dust out of your computer by using a small canister of compressed air to blow the dust away. This is one of the most ideal and proper computer cares that you can give. Do not attempt to wipe or use a vacuum cleaner on your computer's interior as this may affect the small wiring configuration.
To give your PC the proper computer care that is both efficient and effective, you must first open your desktop to expose the interior. Start by directly pointing the nozzle of the compressed air canister at the accumulated dust particles and press to release the air. Try to put more attention to the cooling fan of your processor because that is where dust particles accumulate the most. The power supply is also another area where you should clean thoroughly.
Once finished, you will see once again the motherboard glimmer like new and the cooling fans free of dust, thereby allowing more air to cool the interior of the computer. A proper computer care is the right step to avoid a disaster from happening, and if done regularly would eliminate one risk factor that can happen.
